DIY Pumpkin Spice Simple Syrup
To add a seasonal flair to homemade drinks, here’s a DIY Pumpkin Spice simple syrup. This syrup uses the traditional spices of pumpkin pie for flavor. If you don’t like one of these spices, you can always leave it out!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
Preparation:
Add the cup of water to a saucepan and mix in the sugar and spices. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Once the sugar has dissolved, remove the saucepan from heat. Let it cool on the stovetop, and then store the Pumpkin Spice Simple Syrup in a mason jar or bottle in the fridge. Add it to coffee, tea, apple cider, and anything else that needs a jolt of pumpkin spice flavor! You could even use it in place of syrup on pancakes (you can level up your pancake game by adding some roasted apples or pears along with the pumpkin spice simple syrup!)
